In this engaging, light-hearted two-hour introductory webinar, Angela Hoyt uses a scene from the 1950's sitcom I Love Lucy to explore how program policies and practices can create chaos, not results, for Job Developers. Then, we’ll explore what you can do about it.

In the famous scene, Lucy and her friend Ethel start confidently packing chocolates from a conveyor belt. At first, everything flows smoothly. As the belt speeds up, they desperately stuff chocolates into hats, pockets, and mouths to keep up - it’s hilarious. Sadly, it is a perfect metaphor for the chaos Job Developers face. They are often thrown into their roles without clear expectations, training, or resources to address challenges like clients refusing jobs and employers ghosting them.

In this webinar, you’ll get a taste of how to:

  • Spot the signs of chaos and regain control: Recognize when Job Developers are stuck in unproductive, low-value work, and help them refocus on more impactful activities.

  • Shift from quick fixes to strategic employer relationships: Move beyond transactional employer activities (such as job orders and resumes) to build trusting relationships with suitable employers.

  • Align resources, workloads, and training to prevent burnout: Break down silos and foster a supportive, collaborative environment where your team is energized and achieves results.

Why does this matter? Success isn’t about working harder or faster; it’s about creating systems that empower your team. This means helping Job Developers focus on high-value work, like understanding employer needs and building relationships that lead to sustainable employment—including clients with significant barriers.

Who Should Attend: Managers ready to explore new ways to support their Job Development team, improve outcomes, and position their organization as the go-to resource for employers.
