ABOUT THE PROGRAM
In a world where the traditional job readiness model fails people with employment barriers, the Optimize Employer Engagement Program offers a new and different path forward. The program will support you in achieving easier, faster, and more sustainable employment outcomes for those facing the toughest challenges in the job market. You will learn to open doors for job seekers by building relationships with ‘referable’ employers to influence their employee selection and retention practices.
 
In the prerequisite Optimize Employment for Everyone course, you will learn the key components that must be in place, on the supply-side (client) and demand-side (employer) service to support job seekers to prepare for, attain, and retain employment, including:
How to assess job seekers to determine the most effective route to access the labour market
How to engage and build long-term relationships with employers
How to blend job seeker and employer service interventions
 
In the Optimize Employer Engagement course, you will learn the commitment, power skills, and relationship process required to:
Find quality employers that have job opportunities that align with the realistic goals and strengths of job seekers with employment barriers
Explore employer needs by asking great questions
Identify and overcome employer perceptions and objections
Connect employers and job seekers
Retain and expand employer relationships
Evaluate and continuously improve your practice
 
YOUR TRAINER
Angela Hoyt has over 3 decades of experience in the Employment Services Sector as a manager, job developer, and organizational development consultant. She has a MA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Royal Roads University. Her thesis, The Organizational and Individual Characteristics of Successful Job Developers, included survey data from 13 Employment Service Managers and 109 Job Developers.
